After college, he earned his Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine from Des Moines University. Following medical school, he completed his internship and specialty training in physical medicine and rehabilitation at the University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio.

Prior to joining Alpine Orthopedics and Sports Medicine, Dr. Stark treated an array of musculoskeletal injuries and back pain at Iowa Orthopedics in Des Moines. In addition to his clinical duties at Iowa Orthopedics, Dr. Stark was a team physician for the Iowa Wild of the American Hockey League, provided medical coverage for the Drake University Bulldogs, and covered sporting events for local high schools.

During his training and career, Dr. Stark has gained extensive experience in treating a variety of musculoskeletal complaints. His practice specializes in up-to-date non-surgical management of sports-related injuries, joint pain, interventional spine care (such as lumbar epidural steroid injections, SI joint injections, facet blocks, and rhizotomy), and EMG/nerve conduction testing. His approach to treatment focuses on decreasing pain, maximizing function, and improving quality of life.
